REVERSE

GENIOIMP-E-RATORIS [GENIO IMPERATORIS]; Genius stg. l., modius on head, naked but for chlamys over l. shoulder, r. holding patera (from which liquor may flow), l. cornucopiae. P in left field, A over R in right field. ALE in exergue.

OBVERSE LEGEND VARIETY. Specimen similar to ALEXANDRIA 72 (BM B.6331, 6.01 g) except for obv. legend with ...GAVL VL... instead of GAL VAL. Apparently an engraver's error. See also footnote 5 on p. 674: "Vienna has two off. A coins (of different dies) with C GAVL VL, &c". However, now three different dies are recorded.

Weight 7.07 g; diameter 25 mm. the Münzkabinett of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien Collection (object no. RÖ 55885).
