REVERSE

PRINCIPIIV-VENTVTIS [PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS]; Prince stg. facing, head l., cloak hanging from l. shoulder, r. holding globe, l. reversed spear. Star in right field. PLN in exergue.

UNLISTED BUST TYPE. Not attested for this issue. Similar to bust type R, but without eagle-tipped sceptre. Incorrectly listed in RIC as cuirassed (see LONDINIUM 223 [CONFIRMATION]. See also CORRIGENDA, VOL. VI, p. 134. Listed as cuirassed and draped in Huvelin (no. 124; p. 43: "buste lauré, cuirassé, drapé, à gauche"). Listed in Cloke-Toone (7.07.009). Should be listed in RIC after LONDINIUM 223.
