OBVERSE

DIOCLETI-ANVSAVG [DIOCLETIANVS AVG]; head r., laur.

REVERSE

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED ISSUE. Not attested in RIC. Listed in Cohen, vol. VI, p. 469, no. 482; this coin but rev. legend read as VICTORIAE AVGG. However, as RIC mentions: "Pink, N.Z. 1931, p. 55, noted the falseness of Coh. 482 at Florence" (footnote 2 on p. 457). This unusual legend (an engraver's error?) also supports Pink's opinion.

Not listed in Depeyrot. Listed in Firenze XIII (p. 34, no. 113) with rev. legend given after Cohen. Coin could be listed in RIC after SISCIA 19.

NOTES

Aureus. Weight 4.62 g; diameter 16-17 mm. From Firenze XIII (p. 34, no. 113).
