NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED BUST TYPE - E3. RIC lists for this reverse only two bust types: B1, head r., laur. [CONSTANTINOPLE 18, off. B] and E2, head r. with rosette-diadem [CONSTANTINOPLE 25, off. B and CONSTANTINOPLE 25, off. Є] (p. 572-573). This specimen apparently belongs to the second issue. The diadem could be regarded as an artless rosette-diadem but cf. Bruun's note: "On V. [Vienna] coin of off. B (out of four) with double pearl diadem" (p. 573). Coin should be listed before CONSTANTINOPLE 22.

NOTES

Weight 3.14 g; diameter 18 mm. Coin sold on eBay in June 2012 for USD 93.51.
