REVERSE

MARTIC[ON]-SERVATORI [MARTI CONSERVATORI]; Mars helmeted, in military dress, stg. r., holding reversed, vertical spear, hand resting on shield. PLN in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

MINTMARK VARIETY. Specimen similar to LONDON 4 except for missing letters S|F in fields. Note also that CON in rev legend is hardly readable. Listed in FMRL I (p. 255, no. 897). Listed in Cloke-Toone as a minor variety together with LONDON 4 (8.02.009). Apparently an engraver's error.

NOTES

Weight 3.36 g; diameter 21 mm. Coin sold on Roma Numismatics auction XIII (lot 1262) in March 2017 for GBP 180; sold on CNG eAuction 526 (lot 693) in November 2022 for USD 150.
