IMPMAXENTIVSPFAVGCOSII [IMP MAXENTIVS P F AVG COS II]; bust r., laur., in imperial mantle, r. holding eagle-tipped sceptre.

REVERSE

CONSERV-VRBSVAE [CONSERV VRB SVAE]; Roma seated l. on shield in tetrastyle temple, r. handing globe to Maxentius (in military dress, stg. r.), l. holding sceptre; seated captive between; male figures holding long transverse torches as acroteria; wolf and twins in pediment. AQS in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED REVERSE TYPE. Reverse type similar to AQUILEIA 113-114 (except for male figures with torches as acroteria instead of Victories; see AQUILEIA 114, MAXENTIUS, REVERSE VARIETY) but not attested for Group IV. Listed in Paolucci & Zub (no. 177). Coin should be listed before AQUILEIA 119.
