ENGRAVER'S ERROR. Obv. legend IMP C MAXIMIANVS NOB C is not attested in RIC VI. Probably the engraver began with legend for Maximian Herculius (Augustus) IMP C MAXIMIANVS... and mistakenly ended with legend for Galerius Maximian (Caesar) ...NOB C. However, the portrait apparently shows Maximian Herculius. Note that this coin could belong to the next issue, with officina letter in r. field. One may see the outline of letter "B" in r. field (but probably too close to cornucopiae). On the other side, this coin could be also regarded as an ancient imitation with some errors.
