RIC VII, ALEXANDRIA [after 14], LICINIUS I, UNLISTED OBVERSE LEGEND [IRREGULAR COIN]

OBVERSE	IVALLICINLICINIVSPFAVG [I VAL LICIN LICINIVS P F AVG]; head r., laur.
REVERSE	[I]OVICONSE-TORIAVGG [IOVI CONSETORI (sic!) AVGG]; Jupiter stg. l., chlamys across l. shoulder, leaning on sceptre, Victory on globe in r. hand; eagle with wreath to l. K in left field, wreath above B above X in right field. ALE in exergue.
NOT IN RIC	UNLISTED OBVERSE LEGEND. Specimen similar to ALEXANDRIA 14 (Leu Numismatik web auction 21, lot 5330, 3.30 g, 19 mm) except for obv. legend I VAL... instead of IMP C VAL... Note also error in rev. legend: CONSETORI instead of CONSERVATORI. Also, crude style and lettering. Apparently an ancient imitation.

NOTES

Weight 3.38 g; diameter 19 mm. Coin sold on Savoca Numismatik auction 265 (lot 511) in April 2025 for EUR 60.
