RIC VII, AQUILEIA [before 63], CONSTANTINE I, UNLISTED FOR RULER, ENGRAVER'S ERROR [FORGERY]

OBVERSE

CONST-ANTINVSAVG [CONSTANTINVS AVG]; bust r., helmeted, cuir.

REVERSE

VIRTVS-EXERCIT [VIRTVS EXERCIT]; standard inscribed VOT/XX with captive std. on either side. AQ in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED FOR RULER, ENGRAVER'S ERROR. RIC lists this type only for Licinius I (p. 401). Note unusual m.m. without officina letter, which was in use on the gold and silver Aquileian coinage, but not on bronze. Looks like an engraver's error, however, coin is probably a modern FORGERY. Otherwise, should be listed before AQUILEIA 63.
