BEATATRAN-QVILLITAS [BEATA TRANQVILLITAS]; globe set on altar inscribed VO/TIS/XX; above, three stars. •STR crescent in exergue.

UNLISTED OBVERSE LEGEND. Not attested for this issue but cf. footnote 312 on p. 191:

"Some of the obv. busts recorded for Constantine I I have not been found: CONSTANTINVS IVN N C • COS II, bust K3 l. (CG) and the same bust with CONSTANTINVS IVN N COS II (Maur., loc. cit., rev. V. 43 and CG)."

Specimen similar to TRIER 413 (Berlin 18291121, 3.20 g, 19 mm) except for obv. legend. Also, similar to LYONS 179 (Roma Numismatics eSale 72, lot 1614, 3.52 g, 19 mm) with the same bust type and almost identical obv. legend (CONSTANTINVS • IVN • COS • II).

Not listed in RMBT. Should be listed in RIC before TRIER 408.

NOTES

Weight 2.68 g; diameter 18 mm. Coin sold on CGB live auction in April 2024 (brm_895780) for EUR 851.
