RIC VII, TRIER 317, CONSTANTINE I, ENGRAVER'S ERROR [IRREGULAR COIN]

OBVERSE

CONSTAN-TINVSAVG [CONSTANTINVS AVG]; head r., laur.

REVERSE

BEATRAN-QVILLITAS [BEA (sic!) TRANQVILLITAS]; globe set on altar inscribed VO/TIS/XX; above, three stars. PTR in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

ENGRAVER'S ERROR. Specimen similar to TRIER 317 except for error in rev. legend: BEA instead of BEATA. Probably an engraver's error. Listed in RMBT (p. 32, no. 33 and 35; different obv. legend breaks; no error in rev. legend). However, possibly all known specimens with this m.m. and bust B1 are ancient imitations.
