RIC VII, TRIER [after 521], CONSTANS, UNLISTED FOR RULER [IRREGULAR COIN]

OBVERSE

CONSTANSIVNNOBC [CONSTANS IVN NOB C]; bust r., laur., dr., cuir.

REVERSE

GLOR-IAEXER-CITVS [GLORIA EXERCITVS]; two soldiers stg. facing one another, holding spear in outer hand, inner hand resting on shield set on ground; between them two standards. TRS in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED FOR RULER. Constans is not attested for this issue (p. 214). Note that obverse legend CONSTANS IVN NOB C is known only for one issue from Heraclea [HERACLEA 139]. Note, however, crude style. Probably an ancient imitation. See also CORRIGENDA, VOL. VII, p. 214. Coin could be noted after TRIER 521.

NOTES

Coin sold on Allegro in May 2005 for PLN 67.
